Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said that Ireland and Britain may embark on a joint trade mission somewhere - the first time the two countries would do so.
Mr Kenny said he discussed the issue with British Prime Minister David Cameron at the State Banquet in Windsor Castle last night in honour of President Michael D Higgins - but no firm decision was made.
Mr Kenny made the comments this morning as he addressed a business breakfast in London, where he also urged Britain to remain part of the EU.
The Taoiseach repeated his assertion the coalition will do whatever it can on taxes for job creation in October's budget - another hint that an income tax cut could be on the way.
