On Saturday in Istanbul, ‘A Film With Me In It’, starring Dylan Moran, Mark Doherty, Keith Allen and Amy Huberman won the Special Jury Prize at the 28th International Istanbul Film Festival.

The film’s director Ian Fitzgibbon was in Istanbul to accept this prestigious festival award on

behalf of the producers - Parallel Films - cast and crew.

The jury of the International Istanbul Film Festival said ‘A Film With Me In It’ is “a rare comedy which keeps you laughing from beginning to end with its unusual story and dark, dark humour”.

Producer Alan Moloney said today that “it is quite a coup for a small Irish film to be awarded the top prize in Istanbul. Its great to know that Irish humour has an international appeal”.

The film was produced in association with Bord Scannan na hEireann/Irish Film Board and Chief Executive Simon Perry said: "Comedies almost never win prizes. So an award for 'A Film With Me In It' is further proof of the uniqueness of this Irish film."

On the same night In Dublin, Parallel Films won Favourite Drama Series for the medical drama 'The Clinic' at the 2009 TV Now Awards. 'The Clinic' begins shooting series seven for RTÉ today.
