The death toll in a bus accident in north-eastern India rose to 64 today after more bodies were recovered from a lake into which the bus, carrying a wedding party, had plunged.

The death toll in a bus accident in north-eastern India rose to 64 today after more bodies were recovered from a lake into which the bus, carrying a wedding party, had plunged.

Another 27 passengers were injured when the bus, packed with more than 80 people, crashed yesterday into the lake near the town of Sarupeta in Assam state.
