Rangers midfielder Mikel Arteta is heartbroken at the thought of sitting out Saturday’s Old Firm derby.
The 20-year-old damaged a hamstring during his side’s 4-0 win at Hearts on Sunday and was immediately rated as extremely doubtful for the Ibrox clash.
But the player has now confirmed that Saturday lunchtime will definitely be too soon.
He told The Scottish Sun: “I am broken-hearted. I’m going to miss the one game I was so much wanting to play in.
“Reality is bitter and painful – I would need a miracle to play.”
Meanwhile, over at Parkhead, Brazilian misfit Rafael Scheidt is eyeing a return to the Celtic fold in January after being banished back to his homeland on loan by Martin O’Neill.
His father, Ormido, said: “My son would be delighted to go back to Celtic.”
A cash-crisis at Sao Paulo club Corinthians could make this become a reality.
