Arsenal were let down by their finishing as mental strength and considerable endeavour were not enough to overcome a determined Lokomotiv Moscow side in Russia.

Martin Keown led by example as stand-in skipper in a resolute defensive display, but Thierry Henry, Robert Pires and Ashley Cole all wasted clear chances to reinvigorate their side’s Champions League qualifying hopes.
