Opera star Luciano Pavarotti has postponed two UK appearances because he is still recovering after undergoing neck surgery last month.
The 69-year-old tenor was admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York for the "routine and regular" operation on two vertebrae.
Pavarotti's spokesperson Terri Robson says: "His doctors reported that he recovered very quickly from his operation and have now advised that the second and final stage of this procedure must take place at the beginning of June.
"This situation requires that Pavarotti will, unfortunately, be forced to move two planned UK concert dates during this period."
His June 11 concert in Reading has been rescheduled for July 1, 2006, and the July 9 concert in Derbyshire will now take place on July 8, 2006.
The much-loved singer is currently in the throes of a glittering farewell tour that has already seen him perform in South Africa, Mexico and the United Arab Emirates.
