The Ringer is just on the right side of bad taste
The Farrelly Brothers are back again, this time in the better than expected comedy, The Ringer (Fox, €21.99).
Johnny Knoxville plays Steve, promoted beyond his abilities, who in order to make amends to a colleague, blunders into trouble and ends up at the Special Olympics where things go from bad to worse.
Although the film skirts the bounds of tastelessness, the Farrellys just about pull the whole thing off.
To prove it’s in the right spirit, Special Olympics chairman Tim Shriver delivers a special message in the extras section, while there’s also a Special Olympics featurette.
