Family visit for homesick Mary

Mary Byrne's family are being flown to London in a bid to stop her from quitting 'The X Factor'.

The 50-year-old supermarket worker - who was clearly nervous throughout her rendition of 'There You'll Be' on Saturday night - is said to be on the edge of breakdown after suffering from sleepless nights due to the constant pressures of the ITV1 competition.

Show bosses have now decided to fly out Mary's Dublin-based 25-year-old daughter Debbie, her brother, and two work colleagues in the hope of preventing the popular singer from abandoning her 'X Factor' dream.

Debbie told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Mum is fed up and homesick, all the contestants are younger than her and the only person her age is Wagner - God help her."

On Saturday night's show, worried fans watched as Mary broke down in tears following her performance, telling the judging panel - Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh - she was missing her daughter.

She said: "I'm just not in the zone. I'm lonely for my daughter, for everything."

Meanwhile, 17-year-old hopeful Cher Lloyd is reportedly not helping the situation by keeping the Dublin-based diva awake at night with her non-stop parting.

An 'X Factor' source explained: "Cher's been keeping her up and Mary's terribly homesick."
