New Clare hurling boss Anthony Daly has managed to hold onto a string of veteran players for another season at least in what is a real boost to the Banner County's championship plans.

New Clare hurling boss Anthony Daly has managed to hold onto a string of veteran players for another season at least in what is a real boost to the Banner County's championship plans.

Former AllStars James O'Connor, Davy Fitzgerald, Sean McMahon, Brian Lohan and Colin Lynch have all been persuaded to prolong their careers and will join the panel on an upcoming trip to Manchester United.

Daly said: "We asked if we could see the United players training at Carrington but that was a no-go area. But we've managed to get 50 tickets for the Southampton match so we can't complain."
