Rising Limerick hurling star Seánie O'Connor has hit new county boss Dave Keane hard by revealing he's emigrating to England.

Rising Limerick hurling star Seánie O'Connor has hit new county boss Dave Keane hard by revealing he's emigrating to England.

O'Connor was part of Keane's three-in-a-row U21 sides in recent years and had been earmarked for a big future at senior level, but went to live in Bolton after his club side Ahane lost to Adare in October's county final.

O'Connor was back in Limerick and took part in the trial matches over the Christmas period, but has opted to returned to England.

Limerick selector John Meskell said: "Seanie has not taken part in any of our sessions since training resumed.

"We had high hopes for him in 2003 and are disappointed that he will not now figure."
