The Louth County Board has become the latest GAA body to vote for the abolition of Rule 21, which bans members of the British Army and the RUC from joining the GAA.

Fermanagh, Derry and Armagh have all voted to retain the controversial rule, but several other counties have supported moves to have it abolished.

Donegal has voted in favour of abolition, while Monaghan and Cavan are expected to do the same.

A final decision on Rule 21 will be taken at a GAA convention later this month.
