Soccer: Court date set for Palace

Crystal Palace will continue their bid to prevent Steve Bruce walking out on the club in the High Court a week on Thursday.

Crystal Palace will continue their bid to prevent Steve Bruce walking out on the club in the High Court a week on Thursday (November 22).

Eagles chairman Simon Jordan is seeking an injunction to force Bruce to serve nine months’ notice before he can seek employment elsewhere, with Palace’s First Division rivals Birmingham poised to appoint him as their new manager.

Bruce offered his resignation to Palace, but Jordan refused to accept and Bruce is no longer in charge of team affairs at Selhurst Park.

The date for the hearing was agreed at a brief preliminary hearing this morning.
