Andy Myler hit his first league goal of the season to ease the pressure on Town with a first win in five games.

Davy Byrne came closest to breaking the deadlock in a poor first half with his 30-yard drive straight at UCD keeper Darren Quigley.

Dessie Baker replaced Byrne at the break and added impetus to Town’s approach with their winner coming on 64 minutes.

UCD defender Alan McNally allowed Town keeper Stephen O’Brien’s clearance bounce through to Darren Quigley.

But his keeper wasn’t there and Myler nipped in to slide the ball home.
