Mike Tindall has challenged England to spoil the French party in next weekend’s RBS 6 Nations title showdown.
But the odds are stacked against Tindall and his team-mates as they target a win that would wreck Gallic Grand Slam hopes.
To retain their Six Nations crown, England must triumph by a minimum seven-point margin and stay ahead on overall try count – which currently stands at 15-12 in the world champions’ favour.
It is a tall order for England, to say the least; yet they will travel in confident mood after getting their chariot back on track with a 31-21 Twickenham success against Wales.
“After the second Welsh try, we had a word with each other. We were kicking the ball away willy-nilly, and there was no structure to our game,” said Bath centre Tindall.
“Teams aren’t stupid. They are finding ways of breaking down defences. We were in a tight spot again and we didn’t play the rugby we wanted to play.
“It is a massive challenge going to Paris, but we’ve still got a chance of winning the tournament. We have just got to try and spoil their party.”
