EastEnders' Little Mo will discover her prison sentence in the soap on Thursday May 23.
The length of the sentence shocks Little Mo and the Slater family.
She is to be sent down for eight years.
Little Mo was found guilty of trying to kill her abusive husband Trevor in her recent high-profile attempted murder trial.
Actress Kacey Ainsworth told Inside Soap magazine: "Little Mo couldn't believe she'd been found guilty. She was having enough trouble just dealing with that, let alone worrying about the sentence.
"I think she was clinging to the hope that something would happen to set her free - maybe her family would launch an appeal, or perhaps even Trevor would.
"I don't think she'll cope very well in prison. Mo's far too fragile and innocent for prison life - she'll be scared out of her wits."
