Kurten wins at Birmingham, Twomey third

Ireland's Jessica Kurten chalked up her first win of the weekend at the four-star show in Birmingham, England last night, while Cork-born Billy Twomey took third place.

In the second leg of the British Open Show Jumping Championship at Birmingham, Kurten and her 13 year-old stallion Galopin du Biolay were just under half a second faster than Belgian runner-up Kristof Cleeren in the jump-off

Twomey, meanwhile, was close on the heels of Cleeren with the chestnut mare Anatasia III, with 1.62 seconds separating the two.
