Bank of Ireland has reported significant increases in recruitment in the professional, retail and health sectors in the past 12 months.

Bank of Ireland has reported significant increases in recruitment in the professional, retail and health sectors in the past 12 months.

In its latest jobs index, published this morning, the bank said advertisements for jobs in the professional sector were up 32% in November compared to the same month last year.

Recruitment in the retail sector was up 17%, while healthcare job numbers were up by 22%.

Elsewhere, adverts for jobs in the manufacturing sector were up 8%, but the IT sector experienced a 53% decline in job advertisements and the education sector saw a decrease of 24%.

Overall, Bank of Ireland said just over 16,000 job advertisements were placed in national Sunday and daily newspapers in November, a 1% increase on the same month last year.
