Golfer Colin Montgomerie and his wife are due to be divorced in London tomorrow.

The 41-year-old sportsman and 34-year-old Eimear appear in a list of 32 divorces to be heard under the special quickie procedure before District Judge Black at the High Court’s Family Division.

The couple, who have been married for 14 years, separated in April this year.

Mrs Montgomerie still lives in their £4m (€6m) home in Oxshott, Surrey, with their three children.

Montgomerie, ranked 45th in the world and the victor at the Singapore Masters in March, has admitted his obsession with golf contributed to the break-up.

He is due to be in the European team for next week’s Ryder Cup in Michigan, US.

His manager, Guy Kinnings, confirmed that the decree nisi was to be granted tomorrow with the decree absolute to follow in due course.

There would be no other comment from the couple, he added.
