Royal marines are on their way to the Pakistani border in Afghanistan to seal off possible transit routes for Al Qaida and Taliban forces.

Troops are entering the Afghan hills where the forces apparently had a stronghold.

The latest move by British special forces is called ‘Operation Buzzard’.

It is hoped that the troops will seek out any disruptions that may affect Afghanistan’s interim government.

The interim officials are due to meet next week to decide on Afghanistan’s new government.
