After spending the past year working on such high profile films as The Aviator and Ron Howard’s grim Western, Missing, Cate Blanchett is planning to return to Australia to work with her husband, Andrew Upton.
“My husband has done a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s play Hedda Gabler and I will be playing that in Sydney,” Blanchett told the Hollywood Reporter.
“I often think about directing but it probably wouldn’t be film; it would be theatre. But I am in no hurry.”
Before she can leave Hollywood she first has to finish work on The Life Aquatic, an adventure which she is currently filming with Bill Murray.
