A 5.1-magnitude quake rattled parts of south-western Pakistan tonight, causing people to rush out of their homes in panic. No casualties were reported.
Tremors were felt in the remote towns of Khuzdar and Sarrab, about 240 miles south of Quetta, the capital of south-western Baluchistan province, said Mohammed Adnan, an official at the meteorological department in Quetta.
A local government official, Ashraf Khan, said the quake caused panic, but said there were no reports of casualties or damage.
The quake occurred three days after a 7.6-magnitude quake caused widespread death and devastation in Northwest Pakistan and the Himalayan territory of Kashmir, which is divided between Pakistan and India.
