The Federation of Small Businesses has welcomed the joint report by Ofcom and Comreg on cross-border mobile phone calls.
John Friel, FSB Regional chairman, said: “The high cost of cross-border calls is a major financial headache for any small business owner who is involved in cross-border trade or whose premises are close to the actual border itself and have the problem of roaming mobile signals, resulting in paying international charges.
“The vast majority of small business owners rely on their mobile phone as a vital means of doing business.
“We welcome the fact that both governments and Ofcom and Comreg are now making this problem a priority, and would urge the mobile operators to give an immediate response to this report."
