Welsh movie star Catherine Zeta-Jones was so convincing as a swash-buckling Mexican heroine in The Mask of Zorro, she attracted the Spanish-language media on red carpets.
The actress, who reprises her role as Elena in sequel The Legend of Zorro, admits she was initially baffled when news crews would try and interview her in a foreign tongue, but she quickly realised they thought she was a Latina.
She recalls: "The first time I walked on a red carpet they were: 'Hola Catherina.' I was like: 'Si, si, gracias.'
"It was a compliment that they thought my accent was convincing. But I'm Welsh, through and through."
