However, clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson is confident the six-race card, which begins at 12.50pm, will be given the go-ahead.
“We are very hopeful,” he said. “It’s perfectly raceable today and as long as the temperatures don’t get too far under minus-one degrees – which is what they are forecasting – then things should be fine.
The going at Leicester is currently good to firm on the chase course and good to soft, soft in places on the hurdles course.
