Necklace spearheads Aidan O’Brien’s two-pronged attack on the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday which the Ballydoyle trainer bids to win for the third time in four years.
The mount of stable jockey Michael Kinane, Necklace confirmed the promise of a debut second when beating Caldy Dancer in the Group Three Robert H Griffin Debutante Stakes over this course and distance three weeks ago.
Oh So Precious, ninth to Necklace in that race, is the O’Brien second string.
River Belle and Menhoubah fly the flag for Britain with the former bidding to maintain her unbeaten record.
River Belle, trained by Alan Jarvis, was an impressive winner of the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot while Clive Brittain’s Menhoubah was fourth to Bay Tree in the Listed Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket on her latest start.
British trainers are responsible for half of the eight-strong field for the Group Two Big Shuffle Flying Five.
They are led by Bonus, who took the Group Three Phoenix Sprint Stakes over six furlongs earlier this month.
Accompanying Richard Hannon’s sprinter are the Roger Charlton-trained Deportivo, Malcolm Saunders’ speedy 10-year-old Repertory and Indian Spark from Jim Goldie’s Glasgow stable.
