A US Marine and an army soldier have died from wounds received during action in Iraq.

A US Marine and an army soldier have died from wounds received during action in Iraq.

The Marine, assigned to Regimental Combat Team 5, died yesterday from injuries sustained in fighting in al-Anbar Province, the US military said in a statement.

The army soldier died at approximately 7.50pmIrish time on Friday after the vehicle he was riding in was hit by a roadside bomb south-west of Baghdad.

The names of the dead men were being withheld until next of kin had been notified.
