Members of the IMPACT trade unions have voted in favour of the new social partnership agreement by an overwhelming majority.
The union said today that a ballot of its 56,000-strong membership had returned an 80% vote in favour of the Towards 2016 deal, which includes pay rises totalling 10% over 27 months.
The support of IMPACT, Ireland's second largest union, is a signal that the agreement is likely to be ratified at a special ICTU conference next month.
SIPTU, which is due to finish balloting its 200,000 members today, will announce the results of its vote next week.
