West Wing star Rob Lowe may join Arnold Schwarzenegger’s campaign team as the screen tough guy seeks to become California’s Governor.
Republican Schwarzenegger has already recruited Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the US, and veteran politician George Schultz, who was Secretary of State in the first Bush White House administration, as economic advisers.
Now former Brat Packer Lowe, who played a left leaning advisor to Democratic President Martin Sheen in TV’s West Wing series, is said to be about to leap right into the Schwarzenegger team.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Lowe, a Democrat, has been asked by Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria to take an as yet undefined senior campaign position.
Bonnie Reiss, a strategist for Schwarzenegger’s campaign who is also a Democrat, told the newspaper she has met Lowe.
Campaign representative Karen Hanretty would say only that a formal announcement about the campaign team would be made in days to come.
