A run of good period dramas in recent years has rather spoiled viewers, so no surprises then that we have yet another.
'The Other Boleyn Girl' (Universal, €24.99), adapted from Philippa Gregory’s novel, plays loose with the facts to deliver a work more in keeping with TV series 'The Tudors', except without the nudity.
Sisters Anne (Natalie Portman) and Mary (Scarlett Johansson) vie for the attentions and bed of King Henry (Eric Banna) — a sibling rivalry which escalates with fatal consequences.
Justin Chadwick’s film is enjoyable enough, though you can’t help feeling the main actors are not giving their best. Expect lots of betrayal and bed-hopping.
