Two ground crew from at the Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina are missing after a commuter plane crashed there.

Two ground crew from at the Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina are missing after a commuter plane crashed there.

The commuter plane carrying 19 people today crashed during take off, police said.

The Air Midwest Flight 5481, a Beech 1900 twin-engine turboprop, crashed into a hanger as it was taking off in clear weather at about 8:45 a.m. (13.45 Irish time).

Witnesses said the US Airways Express jet flipped on to its back before plunging to the ground near the hangar.

The plane was believed to have been on its way to South Carolina.

Police said there were no reports of any survivors.
