A British woman has appeared in court accused of biting off her boyfriend's testicles.

A British woman has appeared in court accused of biting off her boyfriend's testicles.

Mother-of-four Maria Topp denied castrating Martin Douglas with her teeth at a brief hearing in Newcastle Crown Court.

He required emergency hospital treatment for his injuries.

Maria was granted bail until a longer two to three day trial which will be fixed at a later date.

In 2005 another British woman ripped off her boyfriend's left testicle in Liverpool after he rejected her advances at the end of a drunken house party.

She was jailed for two and half years.
