A magnitude-6 earthquake has struck south west China, injuring 11 people, collapsing houses and closing a hydropower station.
The tremor has hit Ganzi in Sichuan province, shaking about 20 towns inhabited by about 20,000 people.
The region is sparsely populated and under normal conditions people can only get in on horseback.
Ganzi, about 870 miles south west of Beijing, is inhabited largely by Tibetan and minority Yi people.
A magnitude-6 quake can cause severe damage in heavily populated areas.
