Basketball: Ireland lose to Germany in Euro Championships
Ireland have been beaten by Germany in their opening match of the European Championship men’s semi-final round robins series.
Ireland lost 85-77 after getting off to a good start, thanks to a spirited display by Mike Mitchell.
The game was there for the taking, with the Irish only five points behind going into the last five minutes.
Ireland now face Croatia this Saturday.
It is the first time the Irish have reached this stage of the competition.
