Time for a TV break, says Buffy star
Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar wants to have a break from television, it emerged today.
The 25-year-old pin up said she needs to ‘‘decompress’’ after years working on the hit show.
Gellar also intends to broaden her career, and appears as teenage sleuth Daphne in the film version of the cartoon Scooby-Doo due out this summer.
‘‘I could do with a break from television. I need to travel, to decompress,’’ she told the Sunday Express S:2 magazine.
‘‘One day I’d love to do a sitcom. I’d love to do big feature films, period pieces, comedy, action drama. I want to do it all. And I want to do it tomorrow!’’
The actress said Mr Bean star Rowan Atkinson plays the villain Mondavarious in Scooby-Doo, who tries to get the gang together to solve a mystery.
Her fiancee, Freddie Prinze Jr, 27, co-stars in the movie as Fred.
Gellar also told how she had been voted the top pin-up for prison inmates in the US.
