Gyllenhaal to play American football star Namath
Jake Gyllenhaal is set to play beloved American football rogue Joe Namath in a new biopic.
The quarterback, whose high-living party lifestyle earned the flamboyant stud the nickname 'Broadway Joe', has personally given Gyllenhall permission to play him in the untitled film.
Producer Andrew Lazar has been trying to get the movie rights to Namath's life for years, according to trade paper 'Daily Variety'.
