A fifteen-year-old Irish swimmer, Eimear Doyle from Limerick, has become Ireland's first swimmer in ten years to reach a finals at the Junior European Swimming Championships.
On the first day of the competition yesterday in Antwerp, Belgium, Doyle finished 7th at 32.97, setting a new Irish record and a further personal best.
Her twin sister Fiona also made the semi-finals of the 50m breaststroke, finishing 14th and equalling her personal best of 33.85.
Fiona also finished 11th in the 100m freestyle with a personal best and Irish Youth Record of 58.06 in the semi-finals.
