Some grown-ups are no better.
The National Watch and Clock Museum in Pennsylvania (which is sounds like it's full of delicate items) posted CCTV footage of a recent incident where a visitor caused a priceless timepiece to fall and smash on the ground.
The couple were admiring the sculptural piece made by artist James Borden which was made in 1994 before the man pulls on the pendulum - repeatedly.
And the inevitable happens.
We cringe every time something like this happens,” museum director Noel Poirier told Lancaster Online.
“We all fainted when we watched the video,” he said. “He plays with the clock a lot before it falls. It was very dramatic.
“That’s kind of why we posted the video,” he added. “It probably happens every day at a museum somewhere. It’s good to remind folks why we ask them not to touch.”
The museum say the couple alerted staff immediately and that they won't be pressing any charges.
The clock is said to be "doing fine, but will need some TLC".
Lesson. Learned.
