This man was just lying out on the beach, enjoying the sun and minding his own business when a plane came out of nowhere and flew right over him, missing him by
.The plane then ploughed through a wooden fence before coming to a stop on a runway just beyond the beach.
The near-miss happened on a beach in Heligoland, an island in the north of Germany. The pilot, Juergen Drucker, has since apologised, saying he misjudged the distance to the runway.
"It was me that was flying and I am really sorry. I have to say, as the pictures show, that it wasn't one of my greatest achievements in the cockpit," he told Bild.
"In my defence I can say that I didn't see him because he was lying down and I'm just very grateful it worked out well and I didn't land on him. I don't want to say any more than that."
It is thought Drucker will receive a fine from the German Federal Aviation Office but he hopes that he won't lose his license.
So so lucky. If that sunbather had raised his head at the wrong second…
