Michael Jackson’s older brother Jermaine has filed for divorce from his wife of nine years Alejandra, it emerged today.
Jermaine, a former star of the Jackson 5, lodged papers in a Los Angeles court, citing “irreconcilable differences” for the split,
According to the divorce petition, the couple’s children – Jaafar, eight, and Jermajesty, four, will live with their mother in Encino, California.
Jermaine and Alejandra wed on March 18, 1995, and separated on November 15, this year. The divorce petition was filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court on November 19.
Jermaine Jackson, who turns 50 on December 11, has three children from a previous marriage to Hazel Gordy, daughter of Motown founder Berry Gordy.
He also has two children with another woman.
The split is the latest blow to the Jackson family, which is still reeling from child abuse charges brought against “King of Pop” Michael.
The star, 46, has denied the charges and is due to go on trial for child sex abuse in the New Year.
