Arsenal were in party mood today as they paraded their double-winning spoils on a tour of north London.
The Gunners, fresh from winning the FA Cup and the Barclaycard Premiership, embarked on an open-top bus ride around Islington to celebrate their excellent season.
Boss Arsene Wenger led the celebrations, holding the Premiership trophy aloft whilst joining in with a rendition of Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’ outside Islington Town Hall.
Winger Robert Pires, who was ruled out of the title run-in with a serious knee injury, was also present.
He joined fellow France international Thierry Henry to raise the championship trophy.
With Tony Adams yet to decide on his Highbury future, today’s parade may yet be a glorious farewell to the former England captain and he lapped up the adulation, holding title trophy and FA Cup aloft to loud cheers.
Patrick Vieira saluted the thousands of fans, saying: ‘‘I love you. It is a fantastic day for the club.’’
