Golf legend Jack Nicklaus will today tee off for a charity golf game.

Nicklaus – widely regarded as one of the best golfers of all time – and his wife Barbara, will be guests of honour at the fundraising day for The First Tee of Ireland at Luttrellstown Castle Resort.

Corporate teams will play 18 holes to raise funds to support the expansion of The First Tee programme.

Des Smyth, Peter Lawrie and a number of celebrities will be participating in the event.

The First Tee was founded in the United States in 1997 to introduce young people of all backgrounds to golf and the life lessons it teaches. Nicklaus is national trustee of the organisation in the US.

Since 2005, the charity has been operating and expanding throughout the island of Ireland supported by Premier Partners, One51 and Ulster Bank.
