Mercury appoints new MD

Building and engineering services company Mercury has announced that chief operating officer Michael Kennedy is to be the new managing director of the group.

Building and engineering services company Mercury has announced that chief operating officer Michael Kennedy is to be the new managing director of the group.

Michael Kennedy will succeed Joe Morgan, the current MD, who is retiring from the company but will continue to be a member of the board as a non-executive director.

Mercury, which is headquartered in Sandyford in Dublin, operates in the UK, Poland, Russia and the Middle East.

The company employs almost 3,000 people and has been involved in many high-profile building projects both here and abroad, including the Aviva Stadium, The National Conference Centre and the recently completed T2 project at Dublin Airport.
