George Washington could be in line to reappear at Royal Ascot if preparations continue to go according to plan.
Aidan O’Brien’s charge, a brilliant winner of the 2,000 Guineas and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes last year, has successfully taken the next step on the road to a racecourse return by working with the rest of the Ballydoyle string.
The Danehill colt had previously been in isolation following his return to training after proving ’subfertile’ at stud, but is now making good progress on the gallops.
O’Brien told the Racing Post: “George is back with the other horses and he has done two pieces of work.”
“His behaviour has been good so far and, at this stage, we’re looking at him starting back racing in the Queen Anne Stakes.
“We’ll wait and see how he progresses over the next few weeks, but things are looking good so far.”
