Shearer: Title is beyond us
Alan Shearer says Newcastle have virtually blown their chance of winning the Premiership following Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough.
"We will only get back in it if Man Utd and Arsenal have one almighty slip-up," said the Magpies captain.
Newcastle are now eight points adrift of leaders Arsenal and three behind second-placed Manchester United with just nine games left.
Geremi scored the all-important goal for Boro, heading home Franck Queudrue's left-wing cross on 62 minutes.
