Sheikh Mohammed’s policy of bolstering his stallion squad has continued with the news that his Darley Stud have purchased a half-share in the exciting New Approach.
A winner of all three of his starts to date, including the Group Three Tyros Stakes and the Group Two Futurity Stakes, he will continue to be trained by Jim Bolger and run in the colours of Bolger’s wife, Jackie, who retains half a share.
The news comes shortly after Sheikh Mohammed acquired Bolger’s champion juvenile of last season, Teofilo, who retired without racing as a three-year-old.
To date, New Approach has followed an identical path to that of Teofilo last season.
John Ferguson, Sheikh Mohammed’s bloodstock advisor said on www.darley.co.uk: “We are delighted to have purchased a half-share in New Approach; he is one of the outstanding two-year-olds of 2007 who has the scope, pedigree and quality to go on to be a top prospect for the Classics next year.”
