When it rains it pours: Corrie hit with deluge of continuity problems

'Coronation Street' is suffering continuity issues after its set was hit by thunderstorms.

The ITV soap has come under attack from Mother Nature this week which has caused problems for show bosses who have been trying to finish filming scenes from last week that were shot amid a heatwave at the Manchester-based set.

A source said: "There are often continuity problems with filming when it comes to weather but it’s rarely as extreme as this.

“Last week it was blazing sunshine and today it was horrible, humid and pouring with rain."

Catherine Tyldesley – who plays beautiful barmaid Eva Price in the soap – was particularly frustrated by this week's sudden change in the elements because it stopped her being able to watch Lancashire County Cricket Club play.

She wrote on Twitter: "Schedules changed. Gutted I'm missing the cricket @LancsCCC #weddinggate #thanksrain (sic)"

In a tweet accompanied by a picture of her stood in the pouring rain on the cobbles, she wrote: “I’m a bit wet.

"I apologise for the rain. I'm filming outside and God likes to p**s it down whenever I have exterior scenes."

The 29-year-old star was shooting scenes for the wedding of her on-screen mother Stella Price (Michelle Collins) and Karl Munro (John Michie).

The source added to The Sun newspaper: “Poor Cath had to go out there in her beautiful summer bridesmaid dress and film as it was bucketing down.”
