Waterford United travel to United Park to face Drogheda United tonight, with both sides looking for points at either end of the table, kick-off 7.45pm.
United are almost back to full strength and Jason Gavin and Ollie Cahill are both back training and will return over the coming weeks.
However, Declan O’Brien and Shane Barrett remain on the long-term injury list.
Waterford will be without Patrick Flynn, Robbie Hedderman, Kenny Browne, Shane Harte and Alan Mulcahy who are all banned. They have been suspended for one game having accumulated four penalty points.
And Shane Harte (groin), Karl Bermingham (stomach) and Daryl Kavanagh ('flu) may miss out through injury.
Cronin said: “This game will be difficult and to have five players missing is a huge blow to us but I will move a few players around and call some of the U-21s into the squad and we will do our best. My back four has been decimated but I have a few options and we'll see what happens.”
