WEXFORD 2-17 ANTRIM 1-10
Wexford may have scored just six second-half points but they did all the hard work in the first half of their Division 1B meeting with Antrim.
Early goals from forwards Anthony O’Leary and Robbie Codd helped them to a 2-17 to 1-10 win at Wexford Park.
The visitors, minus their Dunloy contingent, put up a good showing but Wexford had too much in the end, building on the promise of 2003 with midfielder Paul Codd again very much to the fore pointing six points, all from placed balls.
Corner forward Aidan Delargey put the Ulster men into the lead after forty seconds, drilling over from 20 metres before a run of scores from Robbie Codd and four off the hurl of his brother Paul, including a 50 in the 4th minute, sandwiched a second Antrim point from Liam Watson.
Wexford hit seven wides in the first half but scores from Barry Lambert, Paul Codd and Robbie Codd's goal on 29 minutes handed them a 2-11 to 0-05 half-time advantage.
Liam Herron picked off a goal for the Saffrons after the break and a renewed effort from them saw them outscore the hosts by two points with Brian McFall and Watson amongst the points.
