Last year's beaten finalists DCU continued their march through this season's O'Byrne Cup with a comfortable 0-16 to 0-8 win over Offaly at a foggy O'Connor Park this afternoon.

An experimental Offaly side were really pushed to the pin of their collars by the students who led by 0-7 to 0-3 at the break.

DCU dominated possession in the first half and could afford to miss a first half penalty and a number of frees by Roscommon's Donal Shine, who was red carded early in the second half.

DCU upped the ante on the restart to push nine points clear as the game entered the final quarter.

Cavan's Ronan Flanagan led the charge for the students in the scoring stakes, with six vital points.

DCU will face either Dublin or Meath in the semi-finals.
