Ireland's public enemy Number one Mikaera Tewhata has been temporarily suspended by the French rugby federation after his punch on Brian O'Driscoll.

Ireland's public enemy Number one Mikaera Tewhata has been temporarily suspended by the French rugby federation after his punch on Brian O'Driscoll.

The Kiwi's attack in Thursday's friendly with Ireland left O'Driscoll with a fracture to his sinus and damage to his cheekbone, throwing the Irish captain's World Cup hopes into disarray.

The FFR have suspended Tewhata pending an enquiry, and have also requested that the English rugby union make English referee Wayne Barnes' match report available.
